(I'm posting for a friend actually, we're worried)
He's a chihuahua, 6 years old and I'm noticing that his eyes are 'bulging' and very teary & goopy, they've never looked like this before. Looks tired- 'squinty'. Could he have gotten some pesticides or something in his eyes while he was out for a walk? Allergies?
Has anyone else ever noticed anything like this with their dog- what is it? Any ideas?
Should we take him to emergency? Advice- please!!
Thanks,
Kara

Re: Is there something wrong with my dog? Allergies? Serious?
Sat, May 28, 2005 - 5:12 PMi would definitely recommend a trip to the vet.
My parents' dog has hay fever really bad, but his symptom is that he's scratched away almost all of the fur around his eyes. The vet recommended Benedryl and then Claritin to help.
What you described doesn't really sound like allergies so much. Is the goop a color or just clear? Is it all the time, or only after the walks?
